The American Youth Association was founded with the mission of empowering young people to get involved in the political process and make their voices heard. AYA has since grown into a nationally recognized leader in youth civic engagement, cultivating a diverse network of young advocates and driving tangible policy change.

What is the recruitment process for AYA state and national officers?
Online applications are available for any high school student with full-time residence in the United States.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their policy experience, prior involvement in our programs, academic honors, and essay responses.
